Gluten-Free Broccoli Chicken Calzones
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, diced
- 1 cup broccoli florets, steamed and chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup gluten-free marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Gluten-free pizza dough store-bought or homemade
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375F 190C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced chicken, chopped broccoli, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Mix well
Divide the gluten-free pizza dough into equal portions, depending on the desired size of the calzones
Roll out each portion of dough into a circle on a lightly floured surface
Spoon the chicken and broccoli mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edges
Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to form a semi-circle and press the edges firmly to seal
You can crimp the edges with a fork for decoration, if desired
Transfer the calzones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the dough is cooked through
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving
